Rob & Sarah
We are looking for friendly, caring (non-smoking) adult/s to look after our dogs, cat and hens whilst we are away on holidays. We own a local building company, which keeps us very busy in our office at home, so look forward to escaping with the comfort of knowing someone is there for our girls. We haven't had house sitters for a few years now but hope to find someone lovely to help us out and enjoy a stay in Little Easton.
Our Home & Location
We live in a large, comfortable 5 bedroom house with an acre of garden to relax in. There is a comfortable double spare room for you to enjoy your stay. The kitchen has a large Aga for cooking and keeping you cosy. A spacious sitting room joined to the kitchen has a huge sofa and a TV for relaxing after long country walks. Little Easton is a very pretty village just 15 minute (yet very quiet!) from London Stansted Airport and the M11 - for London and Cambridge within an hour's drive. There is a dog friendly pub in the village which serves food. Nearby market town Gt. Dunmow (2miles) has local shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes, banks, etc. There are beautiful walks around the village along the river, around the fishing lakes and the historical Gardens of Easton Lodge. A great place to relax - in between throwing a ball for Mouse!
Responsibilities & Pets
We want the reassurance that someone is generally around the house with our dogs during the day and, of course, throughout the night. Someone to care for our pets and keep our home tidy and water the garden if it is warm and dry.
The dogs are very happy to run around in the garden, when the weather is nice. But they do need a walk daily too. The village we live in has some lovely walks on footpaths along the river and around several fishing lakes. All 3 of our dogs are safe to let off their leads for a run, once off the road. They are fed dry food twice daily and sleep on their bed, in the utility room, overnight. Mouse - our 7 month Weimaraner - has her crazy moments and will steal/chew things like shoes if left in her reach. She loves a game of fetch with a tennis ball. They all respond to sit, wait, come, leave, etc and are generally very well behaved....
Amy the cat lives, and is fed, in our daughters room and goes in and out the window! Apart from food once a day, she only needs a little stroke/cuddle really! The chickens need a bit of corn thrown in their run daily and the eggs collecting. They have their poultry pellets in an automatic feeder in the stable (in the run). + More info
