Victorian house with easy access to lovely walks
We have not booked our long weekend holiday in October but it will be approx these dates.
We live in lovely Saffron Walden, inbetween London and Cambridge, Cambridge is about 15 minutes by train, London is an hour. We have 2 dogs and would prefer they were looked after at home when we go on holiday, we are looking for non smoking couple (or single) who will be around during the day for company and for some walking. Saffron Walden a small market town but has everything you need, it has a beautiful ancient centre with many medieval buildings and a market twice a week. It has a cinema, a sports centre and a world class music venue (Saffron Hall), worth booking up in advance, there are several nice pubs and places to eat, further a field by car there are many more pubs, including dog friendly options. There are places to walk the dogs nearby including the fields around Audley End house just a few minutes away, we are extremely fortunate to have this amenity so close by - you will meet plenty of people there who will recognise Coco and Pepper.
Our Home & Location
We live near the centre of our lovely town, it is a 5 minute walk to Waitrose and many local high street shops. Our home was built in 1880, it has 4 bedrooms, a small garden and a kitchen/conservatory with sofas overlooking a pretty, sunny, south facing garden. The house has a relaxed ambiance (comfortable rather than clinical!), 4 beds, 2 in loft and 2 well equipped bathroom with showers, one is walk in. We have a TV, wifi, of course, and plenty of seating in the sunny garden. It is a Victorian road, pretty quiet all day, close to 2 schools, so it is a little busy at the beginning and end of the day. There is off road parking. I have stated you need a car though this is not absolutely essential. It is 2 miles to the nearest station (Audley End), public transport exists but it is patchy.
Responsibilities & Pets
The dogs need one good walk a day, then a second short walk. Pepper is v straightforward friendly and easy, the perfect dog. Coco is nervous of traffic - the route to the park is ok but a browse around town is not her favourite thing. To explore best to leave her at home and let Pepper show you around town, he loves a dander around Saffron Walden. If you drive an easy option is to pop them in the car and drive between 2 and 10 minutes to many off the road locations to walk them both. Both travel well in the car and are very relaxed and happy at home, you will find them no trouble.
