Lunar is looking for love!
My name is Kirsty and my dog is Lunar. She is looking for someone to look after her whilst I go to Australia for 3 weeks in October. This will be our first time using Trusted Housesitters but my Aunty and Uncle have been doing this for a couple of years now and looked after some fantastic pets and houses so I thought that I would give it a try.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 4 bedroom house in Gilston in Hertfordshire. It's close to Harlow in Essex and you can walk over the border to the train station to get to London. It's about 15 minutes walk and the train takes 35 minutes to London Liverpool Street in the City. There is plenty of space and sitters will be staying in Bedroom 2 which is ensuite and has plenty of wardrobe space. The house is large with an office, a formal lounge and then a big kitchen/diner with a snug area - that's where we tend to spend most of our time. There is also a family bathroom with a bath for anyone who likes to have a nice soak! The ground floor of the house has flat access suitable for a wheelchair and there is a downstairs toilet. The door frames are all wide. All the bedrooms are on the first floor. We have parking for 3 cars on the driveway. We have a low maintenance garden and the house is on an estate that has a lot of green space and trees. Lunar likes to play ball on the green in front of the house. You can go walking straight from the house and there are canal walks 10 minutes walk away. If you drive there is lots explore in Hertfordshire and Essex.
Responsibilities & Pets
Lunar would like someone to look after her who enjoys going for walks and who is prepared to play with her toys lots! That said she does very much enjoy a cuddle and a snooze either on someone's lap or lying beside them on the sofa. She is a lot of fun to have around and has big personality for a little dog! I try not to leave her for more than 3-4 hours at a time. She is definitely a dog that enjoys human company. That said depending on the sitters I would be able to arrange for her to go to her regular day care for a couple of days if they wanted to do a couple of trips in to London for example. The house is quite low maintenance as it's new and I'm in the process of getting a new cleaner - which should be in place by October. The garden is also low maintenance with limited activity (if any) required whilst I'm away.
