3 dog (1 diabetic) for a 2 week dog sit
We are a family of five living in a four bedroom detached chalet bungalow, in the coastal town of Clacton-on-Sea.
We are going on a holiday of a lifetime to Florida for two weeks, this will be from Thursday 23rd May 2019 to Friday 7th June 2019....
We have never used a dog sitter before, so we are new to this and are looking for someone to truely love our dogs whilst we are away. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our house is located on a main road but has ample parking and very friendly neighbours. There are locals shops including a fish and chip shop and post office, within a two minute walk from our house.
Travel without a car is easy as there are several bus stops located near our house. We are also located within a 30-40 minute walk or 10 minute drive to the beach and pier....
The sitter will be provided with the main bedroom located on the ground floor and will have access to the rest of the house and garden. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
The sitter will be required to feed the dogs and keep their water topped up, this is fairly important as Wilson has diabetes and requires a lot of fluid. He also requires being injected with insulin twice a day at 12 hour intervals (8am and 8pm). He is very well behaved for this as he has a diabetic treat whilst being injected. After he has been injected, the other two will be watching as they will be expecting a treat as well. We have a dog flap fitted so that the dogs can come and go as they please, also again important for Wilson as he requires to go to the toilet quite frequently. The garden can get quite full of the dogs poop, so the sitter will be asked to clean this up every now and then. Due to Wilson’s diabetes he is NOT allowed any treats! There are diabetic treats that are supplied for him.
The dogs are very much part of our family which includes free roaming of the house, sitting on the furniture and sleeping in our beds!...
Roxy is a lovely tempered dog and is very loving. She loves a cuddle and has a terrible fear of strong winds and thunder storms!
Wilson can be a grumpy old man and can be temperamental when annoyed. Apart from that we call him our little teddy bear as he does love a little fuss.
And then there’s Minnie... she is a little rascal and is full of character! Be careful where you place things as she will most defiantly get hold of this and usually run off with it! She has lots of toys to chew but if she disappears and it goes quiet, then you know she’s probably up to no good! She has got a lovely temperament and loves sitting on your lap. + More info
