House and cat sitting in the glorious Peak Park.
Hello, I'm a semi-retired English Language teacher living in the countryside. I've one lovely cat, friendly and good-natured who uses the cat flap and goes outside a lot.
Our Home & Location
I have a preference for one person as a sitter rather than a couple. I have a cottage in the village of Hathersage, I'm close to the local hourly bus for Sheffield and about 3/4 of a mile from the Sheffield to Manchester train station. Sheffield is 10 miles or about 40 minutes by bus, 20 by train. A car would be useful but not essential if you are prepared to use public transport, or happy to walk. My cottage is on the edge of the village, it's comfortable with wi-fi, close to a pub and about 3/4 of a mile from the village centre. Hathersage has many facilities including an open-air swimming pool open spring through to autumn. If you like walking then just go out of the door and turn in any direction for glorious walks in the beautiful Peak District. I have a range of walking guide books and maps. Slippers and a torch would be useful. Non-smokers please. The wifi, though declared as unlimited can be unreliable at times.
Responsibilities & Pets
To look after the house while I'm away, bring in the post, water plants indoors every few days and in the greenhouse daily if needed and maybe water the veg in the garden if it's very dry , sweep the paths (not many) keep clean the areas used, to be a good neighbour and to feed and care for one adult female cat, enjoy the countryside.
