Happy home on the edge of the south downs
Hello, we are Katie and Russell. We are an animal loving family and have two cats Jessie (4years old) and Henry (3 years old), two juvenile tortoises Bangers and Mash (after the Children's book about two monkeys) and a cocker spaniel, Parker (who will be going away with us).
We live in a quiet cul-de-sac in the town of Steyning. Steyning is a beautiful town with access to the south downs where there are plenty of walks to take advantage off. We are also around a 7 minute walk to the village of Bramber. Bramber has a castle ruin that you can walk around....
Both Steyning and Bramber have various delicious eateries and pubs.
Our four legged family are very friendly and love their home comforts. Henry is a lover of a cuddle and a fuss and knowing that people are around. Jessie, is more of a princess and likes her own space and fuss when she asks for it. Both are extremely loveable and enjoy their food.
Bangers and Mash are very young, they require bathing on a daily basis to help them keep hydrated. They live in a tortoise table with a timed heat and UV light. They eat fresh greens.
Russell and I enjoy to walk and to explore areas of the UK. We would be more comfortable in our travels if we knew that our four legged family were were safe and happy in their home. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our home is a four bedded house, two beds downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. We have an open planned kitchen and dining area and a separate living room. We brought the house just over a year ago and have worked hard to renovate it to a fairly high standard. The garden is yet to be completed (due to it being winter) although we hope to have this complete by the start of summer this year. Although, when you stay you may not be able to enjoy the garden there is lots of open space around us to enjoy.
There is a television in the living room where sky is available. We have WIFI where signal reaches to all rooms....
We are approximately a 6 mile drive to Shoreham (closest beach), 13 miles to Hove and 14 miles to Brighton. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding of Jessie and Henry twice a day (morning and evening). Food would be provided.
Both go outside but a litter tray would be left incase either of them become stressed. The litter would be provided.
Cleaning of the feeding bowls
Supply of fresh water for them to drink
Cleaning and replenishing of the cat litter as required.
We would like the cats to be encouraged not to walk on the kitchen surfaces, sleep on beds or sit on the sky box. They can be mischievous when your back is turned :)...
Bathing on a daily basis (morning) (warm water, tested on the back of the wrist - similar temperature to bathing children) water level to reach just under the shells.
Bangers and Mash tend to let you know when they have had a long enough bath especially if the water cools down (they will try and climb out)
They eat fresh greens (dandelion, curly kale, parsley, watercress etc). Food will be supplied.
Bangers and Mash will need to be checked on in the evening (to check that they are ok and have not turned over on their shells and have got stuck).
There uv and heat lamp is on a timer and will come on and off automatically. + More info
