Company, love and a few walks!
I live on my own with Ajay, and I don't have any family or close friends who could look after him for very long. He has two different sitters who are able to have him for a few hours, or a long day occasionally. He is very much a house dog and likes his home comforts. I really don't think it would be fair on him to go into kennels. I also like the idea of not leaving the house empty if I go away. Have struggled to get a holiday since I got him, so hoping for a happy outcome for all!
Our Home & Location
I am fairly close to the sea and the countryside.
There is plenty of parking space, but also have buses quite close. The station is a 20-30 minute walk. A sitter with a car will probably get more from my location, as there is lots to see and do within a 30 minute drive. My home is in a very quiet neighbourhood, but there is a chain pub/restaurant within a couple of minutes walk....
I have a lovely garden, with plenty of garden chairs etc. I have a modern kitchen and shower room. There is only one double bedroom, as the other room is fitted out as a hobbies/work room. I would expect that my home, and my Ajay would possibly suit an older sitter or couple best.
There are a couple of convenience stores within walking distance, but the bigger supermarkets are a bus/car ride away.
Bognor Regis town centre has a lovely little cinema, which has bargain price tickets. It is about a 20-30 minute walk. The beach is a 15 - 20 minute walk and there are a couple of dog friendly pubs on the seafront. Ajay is quite happy to visit these!
I am close to the beautiful city of Chichester, and also Arundel. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Main responsibility is pampering Ajay! He only needs one walk a day, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind extras! He sometimes only has one 30 minute walk, if the weather isn't very good. He is also quite happy to go on for hours, as long as it's at a fairly easy pace.
He is also very good in the car & sits very happily in his harness....
He isn't particularly keen about going out in the rain, so in really wet weather, we stay in!
He is used to being left at home alone, no more often than a couple of times a week. This is never for more than four hours.
He is vey laid back and easy going. He only has one meal a day, at five thirty-ish - he was meant to have more, but decided that he didn't want it!
He needs grooming every two days or so.
Only other responsibility would be to make sure the house is lived in and looked after, and to water the plants in the garden.
I am a non smoker, so would insist on my home remaining a smoke free zone. + More info
