Pretty west sussex farm
We are going on holiday, we live on a working farm with dogs, horses, cows, sheep. We have a tennis court, and a swimming pool. Need someone to look after our dogs, and possibly help part time with the horses if you wanted to. I can sort them separately if necessary.
Our Home & Location
We live in a pretty farmhouse , in rural west sussex/surrey borders. It is down a long drive lined with lime trees. There are a host of animals around. We have a herd of rare breed british white cows and their calves, and some retired wiltshire horn sheep. Chickens, and horses. There is a village shop about 5 minutes away for essentials, and then there is cranleigh 10 minutes with lovely shops and a bigger supermarket and an M and S. We have petworth with antique shops and the national trust house 20 minutes away and also Arundel with the castle and beautiful gardens. The south downs are only half an hour away. There are lovely walks you can do from the farm. The Surrey hills are also nearby, for cycling and walking. There are lots of golf clubs and country pubs. Some within walking distance. Guildford is 25 mins, with great shopping, cinema etc. There is oodles to do, or you can relax by the pool and play tennis.
Responsibilities & Pets
The dogs will need feeding twice a day, walking. They like to sit with us in the evening on the sofa! They are spoilt. We have two energetic Hungarian Vizsla, a Bassett hound, and a small old mongrel. All have a lovely temperament. My horses may need feeding and turning out or getting in. They are large but well mannered. Three are retired, and one is ridden by me. I have someone who comes in every afternoon to do them in the week, so it is mornings only and only the bear essentials. We have a large and very pretty garden, and a kitchen garden. You are welcome to eat anything that may be growing at the time. There may be pots to be watered round the swimming pool area or in the greenhouse. We have chickens that need feeding and egg collecting. We have a gardener twice a week, so there will always be someone around to ask for help if you need it.
This time we are taking the vizslas with us so there will be just the two older dogs to look after. They will only need one walk and feeding etc. There will be no horse responsibility unless you would like some!
