Sitters required for November/ December 2018
My husband Steve and I are travelling to Australia and New Zealand to visit family later this year.
We would love to be able to leave our dog and cat at home and have someone sit for us, rather than putting them into kennels or a cattery. Steve is a police officer in Sussex and I am a criminal barrister so we both work long hours; we are looking forward to a well earned break. It would give us peace of mind to know that our home and our pets are being taken care of.
Our Home & Location
Our home is on a friendly residential street in Worthing. We are about a five minute drive from the beach, and also close to the Sussex Downs. There are many places to take Max locally. It takes less than ten minutes to get into the town centre, which boasts many shops, cafes, restaurants and leisure activities.
We have four bedrooms, two of which have en suite showers. There is also a family bathroom and study upstairs. Downstairs we have a fully equipped kitchen, living room with Virgin, Now TV and Netflix, dining room, TV room with a playstation, and a conservatory with a pool table....
We have a large enclosed garden, with a pond. Part of our garage has been converted into a gym with a treadmill, exercise bikes, kettle bells, a punch bag and other equipment.
Given our jobs, we do have security cameras at home, and have the Ring doorbell. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Max is a lovely, friendly young dog. He usually has a couple of walks a day. He is happy just to go to the local park which is at the end of our road, or out in the car somewhere further (beach/ woods/ downs). We do in fact have borrowers through the Borrow My Doggie app, so there is some help there.
Otherwise he just loves company and food! He is fed twice a day and is on a dry food diet.
George is a friendly Burmese cat. He and Max play together, often chasing each other in the garden. He has a cat flap and spends quite a lot of time outside in summer. In winter he often curls up on his radiator bed. He is on a dry food diet and just grazes....
Both Max and George are up to date with vaccinations and treatments. They are registered to a vet which is open 24 hours, and is less than 5 minutes away by car.
The fish in the outdoor pond will not need to be fed in the winter months. + More info
