Our Home & Location
Sitters are welcome to use my spare bedroom throughout their stay - it is a good size room with double bed, drawers and hooks. There is a large bathroom with shower over the bath. My living room is comfortable large with two sofas, 40" TV (includes Sky) and a large selection of DVDs. The front room has an additional sofa and a desk but is not often used. The large kitchen comes with oven/hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The sitter may use all of these throughout their stay.
The local area is mainly terraced housing with some small local corner shops. Central Derby (Friar Gate, Sadler Gate and the Intu Shopping Centre) are a short walk away (~15 minutes). Kingsway retail park (including Sainsburys, M&S food, Boots etc) and Aldi are a 5/10 minute drive away. Derby is also very close to the Peak District. Nottingham city centre is also easily accessible by bus or train from central Derby.
Responsibilities & Pets
Caring for Nero - in general he is a very friendly and playful cat who loves attention and company! He does enjoy sleeping a lot, sometimes he doesn't move all day! He does spend a lot of time outside as well. Inside the house he likes to play fetch and chase toys around the house. He is easy to feed with dry food and the occasional treat. He can be a bit stroppy sometimes but usually he will give you some warning before lashing out. He does not usually like to be picked up by anyone except myself but feel free to have a go if you are brave - you have been warned!
Gardening - I have an easy keep garden. At a minimum I would like the sitter to water the plants daily (summer only) and if the sitter would like, they are more than welcome to weed/prune and provide any gardening tips! :)...
General upkeep of the house - I do like to keep the house clean and tidy but I'm not expecting a sitter to be my cleaner for the week! General rule is that I would expect to things to be in the same condition as I left them. + More info
