Friendly dog & cat sitter wanted - edge of the Quantock Hills
We are looking for an animal lover to look after our dog, cat and home.
We’re early 60's, retired and very involved in village life and local things. We want our pets to stay at home rather than be looked after elsewhere. (And there is a limit to what you can expect from friends!) we are keen gardeners, love the countryside & wildlife, and seeing friends.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 4 bedroom house with a good sized garden in the heart of a rural village, Crowcombe, at the foot of the Quantock Hills in W. Somerset. We look out onto fields and the hills. Fantastic village with a brilliant community shop/P.O. (at end of our garden), pub 50 yards down the road and a church. You can walk up to the top of the hills in 20 minutes (or drive in 5) and from there just keep walking! Beautiful views all round. We are 5/6 miles from the sea (OK for dog-walking). 3 miles from 2 small towns, each with good butcher and mini supermarkets. Vet is in one of them. Taunton is 12 miles away and Minehead 13. Dunster is 10 miles away and worth a visit. We have a steam engine route! Quite a few pubs with good food and not silly prices around. We live in a rather unusual bungalow which feels quite large due to its high ceilings of 12' 6"! and there are three steps to go upstairs! It is a comfortable home but not ultra-modern furnishings or decor. All very homely. Bus from Minehead to Taunton every half hour up to about 7.00pm. Train station in Taunton.
Responsibilities & Pets
Someone to look after our animals - couple of walks (totalling 1.5 hrs or more) for Slip daily - and give them lots of love and attention. Take care of the house and garden, and generally take charge.
