West Somerset Springers
We are two retired, active 70+ year olds with a love of the outdoors especially this wonderful area of West Somerset. Our main interests are gardening, and in winter we beat and pick up for local pheasant shoots.
Our Home & Location
Our home is a beautiful, cosy converted barn with three bedrooms upstairs and plenty of space downstairs. There is a modern kitchen and a comfortable sitting room with Sky TV, BT Sport, and DVD player. We are in the Brendon Hills (eastern end of Exmoor National Park) about half an hour from Taunton and half an hour from Minehead. We are surrounded by farmland and a mile from the village of Brompton Ralph, so it is fairly quiet here. We have about four acres of garden and wild flower meadow and there are plenty of good dog-walking areas a short distance away.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main responsibility is looking after our five working Springers, all bitches and all well-behaved. They are not really house dogs - they live in a utility room and are allowed in the kitchen but nowhere else in the house. We take them out three times a day, including a long walk (about an hour) every afternoon, and shorter outings in the garden first thing in the morning and last thing at night. They are typical Springers - loads of energy - and they love people.
