Sitter for family dog and cat in Broadstone, Dorset
We're Mark and Andie, owners of Max and Dexter (and a son :-) ).
We have recently moved to Dorset to escape the London commute, and now work mainly from home but like to travel to see friends and family as well as further afield as work allows. We're both non smokers, kept fit by walking and trying to keep up with a sprocker spaniel. We are looking for reliable and caring house sitters who will look after our home, enjoy walks with Dexter, give Max a fuss while appreciating our lovely local village and the local area.
Our Home & Location
We live in a lovely four bed, 2 bathroom bungalow, with a good sized fenced private garden and walking access to wood and heathland walks, plus the CastleMan Trailway. For convenience, we are in walking distance to the Broadstone high street (The Broadway) with good restaurants, serving Indian, Thai and Nepalese food, with local pubs, as well as Tesco Express and M&S Food Hall. The market town of Wimborne is a short drive to the north, with Poole harbour, Sandbanks and Bournemouth also very close.
We have recently moved into the house, and as such the kitchen is a little tired, but it has up to date fridge/freezer washing machine and dishwasher. The main living room is a good size with folding doors to the rear garden and it's large patio area which is a lovely place to relax after one of the local walks. The main bedroom with a modern en-suite is a good size and south facing making it lovely and bright. One of the other bedrooms is currently a home office, and the property has good internet access and cable TV.
Responsibilities & Pets
The main responsibilities are looking after the animals and keeping the house clean and tidy. Max (our Bengal cat) like to sleep around the house, mainly on our bed, and is allowed outside via a cat flap (although he may ask for the door to be opened for him). He still uses a litter tray and is fed twice daily. He also likes more than occasional fuss and a goodnight treat. Dex is a young sprocker spaniel, sized like a Cocker, and markings like a Springer - he's max as a box of frogs, and loves to explore everything. He's also quite food orientated. His recall is generally good, but can get distracted by birds or squirrels when out walking so a long lead may be easier until he's comfortable with new walkers. As a spaniel, he loves a long walk, and will behave in pubs and in the car - and has the spaniel zoomies. He can be a little nervous on first introductions to men, but quickly settles down.
