Many cats: one thatched cottage in friendly village in mid Dorset
We live in a village near to Blandford, Dorset in a thatched cottage with our five cats. We'd like either one person to housesit, or a quiet couple who are not too tall or large, so as not to alarm the less confident two furry members of the household!
Milborne St Andrew is an ideal location from which to explore Dorset. Car definitely required for proper exploration. It's about 8 miles north of Dorchester, (Dorset's historic county town), and 8 miles south of Blandford. The village has a convenience store and Post Office.
Our Home & Location
Milborne St Andrew is located in a conservation area, nestling in a dip in the Dorset Downs.
There is off road parking....
We have a large and well equipped kitchen (Vitamix makes amazing soups in four minutes!), a cosy lounge with desk space, a ground floor bathroom (bath and shower) and an enclosed rear garden that captures the best of the daytime sun.
Dorset and its Jurassic coast has some of the finest beaches in the country, ranging from Blue Flag beaches in Poole, lively stretches of sand in Bournemouth and traditional sands in Weymouth. It offers the rurality of the Isle of Purbeck and central Dorset and we are on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty deep in Hardy country. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We've five cats, all with rather contrasting personalities! We need somebody who can administer insulin to Monty and feed everyone twice daily. Monty’s insulin is given to him around 7am and 7pm. Aside from this, they can be left for long periods during the day. Monty also uses a litter tray, so that needs changing daily too. We'd also like someone to be indoors most evenings for play and affection, but this is by no means necessary every evening, as long as there is play time at some point! Aside from Monty’s medical need, our cats are very low maintenance and independent. Monty and Saskia are a little shy and nervous and a relatively tranquil and relaxed person (or people) would, in turn, help them feel relaxed and be themselves.
