A stay in the West Dorset countryside
Hello. I have a young black Labrador Beetle (2 years old, a bit more mature than in the photo, I cannot change the order of my photos!) and a tabby cat Pudi in a rural cottage in West Dorset. Beetle is well behaved but excitable around people and other dogs - so best if you have experience of this, (just needs some discipline!) She is super cuddly and loves to get right up close to you on the sofa. Pudi, the cat, is somewhat aloof and likes to look after himself apart from feeding, you might get the occasional cuddle in the evening. I'm a performer and I go away on tour some weekends / some weekdays too -I try to get over to see my brother in Zurich once a year too, often in January.
Our Home & Location
Stunning quiet countryside around, we are in an idyllic hidden spot of Dorset. The cottage is on an old Jacobean Manor House estate. It is about 20 mins drive from Bridport and the Jurassic Coast, 20 mins from Dorchester and 20 mins from Yeovil. Nearest villages are Cattistock, Evershot and Maiden Newton. All have pubs and village shops. Nearest major roads are A37 and A356. A car is essential. The cottage itself is quite old, has 2 double bedrooms, a wood burning stove in the sitting room, heaters in all the rooms, a small but pleasant kitchen, unlimited wifi, a landline, and a small pretty garden you can relax in, with a table and chairs outside so you eat in the sunshine and a small lawn with a lounger, It's on a (mainly disused) farm, there are occasionally sheep in surrounding fields, no cattle. Lovely neighbours on both sides who are familiar with the animals. Parking for 2 cars. This is an ideal place for a single person, a couple , or 2 friends wanting some time together in the sticks.
Responsibilities & Pets
Beetle likes plenty of attention and love. She adores fun tasks, catching a ball etc. She normally sleeps through the morning. Her walks are around 40- 60 mins long, one a day + a couple some trips to the nearby field. She gets up around 7.30 am. She can be naughty and needs discipline with treats to reinforce this, I will explain it all. I normally take her in the car with me in a crate, she loves the car but the max time I leave her in there is around 2 hours, and not at all when it is too hot. She has a big crate at night. She's completely house trained.
Pudi, the cat, just needs feeding in the morning and evening. He comes on walks too!
