Dog/cat sitter wanted for four Lurchers and a moggie
A lot has changed since I originally posted my details of two wolfhounds. Sadly I lost Finnegan (aged 10 and a quarter) and recently lost Murphy aged nine. I have, however, added to the pack... There is now a lovely new partner (you don't have to look after him!) and so a Lurcher bitch called Maisie and three of her 'puppies' have joined the household! The one remaining elderly ginger moggie has now gone so there is just Mimi, a younger cat . Basically one bitch, three hooligans and a parkour kitty.
We hope to go away for the occassional break - but probably never for more thatn a week or ten days at most....
The dogs are all well behaved, easy going and offensively friendly - you probably won't see much of the cat except at feeding times. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in a four bedroomed barn conversion with a good sized garden. The dogs have free run of a gravelled yard and can be let down into the orchard when it isn't too soggy through a side gate.
There will be a computer you can use and unlimited wifi. Don't have sky, but do have Youview with netflix....
Please note that 'disabled access' does not mean that the house is wheelchair friendly, but there is a stanna stairlift, which is used most often, nowadays, to carry the laundry basket up and down.
There is a spa shop about five minutes walk away. The closest town is Liskeard about three miles away. There are lovely beaches and historic towns and of course the Eden project, Lands End, Tintagel, Bodmin jail, Lost Gardens of Heligan and a host of other places I can't bring to mind!! Anyone coming for a short sit would be most welcome to arrive a day or two early to get really settled in, and do some sightseeing before they are responsible for the dogs. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Just being here is the most important thing. That doesn't mean you can't go out, but preferably you'd make it quick!
Making sure everyone gets their fair share of food and keeping the dogs from climbing up and eating the cat food (not as easy as it sounds). Please be prepared for dogs on laps as they are all extremely affectionate....
Keeping the yard clear of 'landmines' and making sure gates are always firmly shut.
I have lovely neighbours and I will always be on the end of the phone in an emergency - or just for answering questions.
If there are no dates posted that doesn't mean we don't want to go away - just that we haven't planned anything yet and can be entirely flexible - even to fitting around an available sitter. + More info
