Lovely Durham City
Paul and Joanne work as a Finance Director and a Cardiac Clinical Scientist. Our two daughters used to do all our animal sitting when we went away on holiday, but now they have busy working lives and have moved away from Durham. We only go away a couple of times a year - but the happiness of the furry/feathered family members is really important to us!
Our Home & Location
We live in a four bedroom house on the outskirts of beautiful Durham City. It's a ten minute walk to the Market Place in Durham, or the railway station. There are food shops within walking distance, as well as a lots of good restaurants, and some lovely dog friendly pubs. If you walk the other way then it's out to open countryside. The fantastic beaches of Northumberland are an hours drive away.
Any guests would have the use of the large double guest bedroom and separate bathroom, with two smaller single bedrooms if required, as well as the downstairs rooms. There are a lot of stairs in the house - so possibly not suitable for small children.
Responsibilities & Pets
Toby is a little old gentleman now - he's a bit deaf and a bit blind, and has to take tablets for his joint pain everyday. He doesn't need long walks any more, but will happily walk a mile or so at a steady pace. He's not good with other dogs, so he's kept on the lead at all times. He's happy to sleep in the laundry room for up to 6 hours a day, and still sleeps through the night. The cats sort themselves out - but they'll tell you when they would like their tea! The rabbit is allowed to run loose in the garden, and just gets locked in at night time. The chickens are confined to a run, and get locked in the hen house at night time. Basically - it's letting everyone out in the morning, feeding them all, then giving them they're tea and shutting them all in at bedtime.
