Alpaca sitter needed
We moved to North Devon in 2016 when Dale 'semi-retired'. Rachel works part-time as a physiotherapist in the community. We moved here to to enjoy a slower pace of life and spend more time outdoors. Rachel has always wanted alpacas and chickens and having a field as part of the property was a perfect home for them.
This year we're planning a few short (1-2 weeks) trips so need someone to look after our beautiful, friendly alpacas and super-friendly chickens.
Our Home & Location
We live in a small, quiet village close to Barnstaple with a fantastic view over the river Taw. Close by there are beautiful beaches, countryside, pretty Devon villages and we are very close to the Tarka trail. The house, at the top edge of the village, is surrounded by field and sits between our garden and our four acre field. There is a regular bus service from the main road at the bottom of the village that can take you all over North Devon, including Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Bideford and, of course, Barnstaple. Barnstaple is on the river Taw and is a lovely town with a busy pannier market and a 1930's cinema
Responsibilities & Pets
The main responsibilities would be to look after our three beautiful alpacas and five chickens. This involves giving them the alpacas their breakfast in the morning, keeping the field clean and giving them some love and attention - and the occasional treat!
The chickens need letting out of their house in the morning and giving them their food, then putting to bed at dusk - and daily egg collections!...
The house doesn't need much attention but we do have a greenhouse and some vegetable beds that may need watering. + More info
