A pet sitter for two lovely greyhounds
We are a couple who have recently become proud pet owners of Meg and Prince. They are ex-racers who we brought home from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Meg is the more confident one and definitely the boss. A real softy and sweet girl though. Prince is a more sensitive and weary but equally as gentle and a cheeky character at times. However, he doesn't cope well with young children. As much as we love Meg and Prince and enjoy going away all together, this isn't always possible. On these occasions, we don't want them to go into kennels, particularly as Prince is a bit of a sensitive soul, and as ex-racers they have spent enough of their lives in kennels. So we are looking for someone who will care for Meg and Prince as well as our home when we are away.
Our Home & Location
We live near Great Windsor Park (Virginia Water park side) so have lots of walks and dog friendly pubs around. We live in a beautiful village (with a shop, pubs and post office) and have a train station a 25 minute walk away, that's on the line to London. We also have towns (Staines-upon-Thames, Egham, Windsor) with all the conveniences you could want a 5 -10 minute drive away as well as lovely neighbours around us to call on if needed. Thorpe Park as well as Windsor castle aren't far away at all but we'd suggest having a car to get around.
Responsibilities & Pets
We would like the pet sitters to feed and walk our greyhounds and give them love while we're away. They live up to their reputation as couch potatoes so at a minimum only need two 30 minute walks a day but they do also like longer walks. With Great Windsor park up the road there are plenty of walks (and dog friendly pubs) to chose from. They also can't be left alone for longer than 4 hours so the sitters need to keep this in mind when exploring the area / going out. Obviously if there are any concerns about the health of our dogs, we'll leave vets details. We'll be contactable whenever needed too, and would love to see and hear about how things are going while we're away. We'd also like our home to be cared for too and whilst we want you to feel at home we also want to find it as we left it.
