Pretty cottage bordering South Downs National Park
We are a married working couple - Roger is an engineer and I (Jane) am an equine vet. We have 4 year old twin boys so life is pretty busy! Granny lives just up the road and is very good at helping with the animals when we go away but sometimes it's a bit too much. We have used a cattery but he is miserable and loses weight during his stay. However, for more than a weekend, someone just popping in doesn't seem enough for such an affectionate young cat! Hence looking for housesitters!
Our Home & Location
Oak Cottage is in the small hamlet of Hammer Vale, right on the borders of Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey. We are located only two miles from the A3 but with a very rural feel. Haslemere mainline station is only a couple of miles away. There is a pub less than 5 minutes walk away but no other immediate amenities. We have a good sized private garden and off road parking.
The NT's East Head at West Wittering is a beautiful beach but about 45 minutes drive - check tides before visiting....
The walking locally is fantastic - bordering the South Down National Park and the Devil's Punchbowl is 2 miles away. Multiple open access commons are found all around Haslemere. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
A good walk for Tangle - the area is beautiful! We are on the edge of the south downs national park and have lots of walks both from the door and a short drive away - mostly over open access land.
Rumpus the cat loves attention and cuddles. He has a timed cat flap and is in overnight. The two animals adore each other!
Other than the animals we would obviously want someone to care for our house as we do! It's a pretty 250 year old stone cottage and has recently been renovated downstairs. Mandy comes in to clean once a week and Dave cuts the grass but any keen gardeners are welcome to do any other bits - I'm still getting to grips with it!
