Just looking after our 5 year old dog
Hi, this is Sarah...I live here with my husband Martin. We both are retired and love our black dog. We have three grown up children and 3 grandkids. These dates that we’d like to have you as Willow's sitter because we are going away to 2 different countries for a week (Ireland & Portugal) & another country for 2 weeks (Bulgaria) , & we are sure that youll love Willow. We both are deaf but can lipread and phone by texting.
Our Home & Location
Our home is at the cul de sac in a village Brockham. Nearby there is a big field where football or rugby players play at weekends during the winter months. About 15 minutes walk to the village where there are a shop, butcher, hairdresser, church and two pubs. 1.5 miles to Dorking...5 miles to Reigate. Lovely walks about here, and you can walk a steep hill to the pilgrim way and Box Hill. It is necessary to have a car but we have a bicycle which you can borrow. It is 2 miles to Dorking Station, where you can catch a train for London...about 50 minute trip. There is a bus route ‘32’, to the station Dorking, Reigate & Guildford.
Responsibilities & Pets
Take Willow for a walk twice a day...approx.at 10am (we normally walk round the big field & to the shop to buy newspapers) and again in the afternoon (about 1-1.5 hour) elsewhere in the beautiful countryside. Feed her once a day at 6pm. She is very active, loves playing with toys, especially balls. Plenty of cuddles and strokes!! Also she loves swimming!! For the car trips you’ll have to lift her into the car, as for some reasons she isn’t keen to jump in!! Once she is in the car, she is okay! We allow her to sleep on the sofa but during the nights she has to sleep in the kitchen on her bed with the doors shut. We take her collar off every night but that is not compulsory!!
During the walks, you have to watch her if she has the ball or stick in her mouth, as once she drops it, she goes a few yards away to wait for you to pick the ball/stick up and throw. Sometimes I cannot find the ball/stick!! I then say ‘ball where?’, she seldom goes and finds it!! Don’t worry if you lose them!!
