Housesitters needed for a September pet sit in Surrey
Hi, we're a married couple with two sons (born October 2016 and February 2019) and we're looking for a house sitter to look after our house, our cat, Mylo and our dog Meela while we're away for a couple of weeks in September.
We live in a three bedroom detached house in a small village near Godalming, Surrey. We're a 5 mins walk from Farncombe station which has regular trains directly up to London, down to Portsmouth and Guildford is only about 5 mins away by train for things like shopping and entertainment. The house is also about a 20mins walk from the market town of Godalming. We're surrounded by some fantastic countryside and with a car, some brilliant, long walks through National Trust parks, Surrey woodland and areas of outstanding natural beauty, like the Devil's Punchbowl, are only minutes away....
We have two pets, a cat called Mylo who's 7yrs old and has bags of personality. We've also got a dog called Meela who's 3yrs old. She's a rescue dog from Greece, she's 66% Vizsla and 33% GSP with about 1% whippet. She loves to run and walk and has nothing but love and affection. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in a three bedroom house in the Surrey village of Farncombe, nestled among some stunning natural sceanery. We have a private garden to enjoy, where we try to grow vegetables.
The house is at the bottom of a quiet cul-de-sac 5 mins walk from Farncombe station which can provide regular trains up to London or down to Portsmouth. Guildford is about 5 mins on the train and can provide entertainment and shopping etc. We're also 5 mins drive from the A3 which if you have a car, can provide rapid access to the likes of The Devil's Punchbowl, Portsmouth, Wisley Gardens, Petworth House and London etc....
The house has fibre optic speed WiFi, Sky TV, Netflix etc and is a 20 min walk from the market town of Godalming and there are some fantastic country walks in the area, not to mention a number of National Trust parks and properties. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have Mylo the cat, aged 7 and Meela the dog, aged 3. Both are rescue animals with their own personalities, but they are a massive part of our family and it's important to know that they'll be loved and looked after while we're away.
Mylo the cat...
Mylo is well-known in the neighbourhood and often pops round other houses to see if they've left any food out and even visit the pub at the end of the road. He doesn't need the extra food and in fact he's on a specialist fish only diet. He's allergic to any form of poultry so it's important that he sticks to his food. He's very much his own cat so don't expect too much affection from him. It very much on his terms. But he's happy to curl up on the back of the sofa and is getting more affectionate in his middle age. He's a handsome cat, and he knows it...Always trying to play the "no one has fed me" card.
Meela the dog
Absolutely loves people. Her favourite spot is sitting next to you on a blanket on the sofa. She's got loads of personality and loves nothing more than a long walk or run....she also loves a swim. Because she loves to run its difficult for her to put weight on so we're not too shy on the treat training. Meela has a good recall and never wanders too far away from you on a walk. She does have a GPS tracker that can be used, but more often than not, we just put a bell on her collar when we go on a walk and it just gives the wildlife a bit of warning.
She's happy to sit with you in the pub but usually we have to take a box/bag of treats and a blanket with us, just so she has somewhere to lay down. + More info
