House and cat sitting
We are a married couple, based in Windlesham in Surrey who travel quite a bit and have just adopted a beautiful, friendly, intelligent rescue Ocicat, Alfie.
Our Home & Location
We are on the border of Berkshire and Surrey in a the pretty leafy village of Windlesham. We are blessed to have no less than 6 pubs in the village, 3 of which are within very easy walking distance! We are close to Ascot and Windsor with all the sights and attractions they have to offer. We are 2 miles from the nearest train station and just 45 mins by train from central London. The house has wifi, a large screen TV and blue-ray player. We also have a largish garden with seating areas and a BBQ for when the weather is nice!
Responsibilities & Pets
We would like someone to live-in to look after Alfie. Along with companionship, attention and being at Alf's every beck and call, he needs feeding several small meals daily, he also will need his litter tray cleaned regularly, as he is extremely fastidious! He has window/door access to outside currently (no flap) and we require that he is kept in the house overnight. He is currently taking antibiotics for an issue he has with his nose, so someone who is comfortable administering drugs to a rather wriggly cat would be perfect!
UPDATE: I wrote this profile not long after Alf came into our lives, we have now had the pleasure of knowing him for almost 3 years and wanted to update this info. Firstly we seem to have resolved his medical issue, so he no longer has to have any medication, although we are on watch alert, so this may change in the future....
He spent the first 3 years of his life as a house cat but now he loves to go out and explore his patch! He is a very fair weather boy however and we quite often find ourselves sitting freezing with the back door open (he still does not have a cat flap) while he's snuggled up in our bed!! He is a truly remarkable boy, he is super intelligent (we've had to child proof the house - including keeping the microwave turned off at the wall - he quickly discovered that nothing gets the humans into the kitchen quicker than the sound of the microwave going on with nothing in it!) He does display certain attention seeking behavious, hurling things off of shelves etc, although we have now taught him that, that kind of action does not get him what he wants, he will only get attention or food when he asks nicely, which he does now with a headbutt and little face nuzzle.
He sits on command, he plays fetch and almost always comes when he's called. He really is such a little character, he loves a game of hide and seek almost as much as his humans! I am sure anyone who comes and sits for us would not fail to fall in love with this little firecracker! + More info
