In search of Doodle loving dog/house sitters
Hi, I’m a general builder and Vicky my partner makes candles from home. Our dogs are very, very important to us! We find it very difficult to leave our babies, even for a day. So when we do leave them we have to be sure they are loved and looked after aswell as we do. We currently have a friend who looks after them, but her work commitments have made her less available. We don’t go away much but we are looking for someone or a couple who we can call upon knowing are babies will be in safe hands! Ideally you will be fairly local to the area as there maybe the odd single night stay required
Our Home & Location
We live on limpsfield chart on the Surrey Kent border, a beautiful area of natural beauty. National trust common and titsey estate woodland are yards from our front door. So our cottage is in a real dog walker s paradise! No need to drive the dogs for a walk. We have a village pub, the carpenters arms, 30 second walk which serves local westerham ales and offers lovely home cooked food. The historical town of Westerham is approximately 2 miles away with the home of Winston Churchill, chartwell, 3 miles. Oxted is 2 miles in the opposite direction with direct rail link to London, approx 25mins. Oxted has a busy high street full of restaurants, banks, hairdressers and supermarkets. Morrison’s and Waitrose. We are also lucky to have an amazing traditional cinema. The chart itself is incredible, acres of heath and woodland to explore alive with amazing wildlife. Deer, rabbits, beautiful birds and even some bird of prey! Our cottage has two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with a cosy lounge diner. The inglenook is a real wow factor home to the big log burner.
We really do love living here and are lucky to have the sunset on our patio. So late summer evenings see lots of alfresco dining and bbqs!
Responsibilities & Pets
We are looking for someone or a couple who love dogs and have good experience in looking after them. Our babies have a routine they are used to. We walk them in the morning approximately 9.30 am for an hour. Dinner is then served around 3.30 followed by a quick lap of our cricket green 300yards down the road for a toilet break. The dogs love human attention so evenings are generally cuddles and playtime. Before bedtime we let them out into the garden or driveway for a tiddle. The garden needs little or no attention whilst we are away. Maybe in the summer months water a couple of baskets. Winter months require a little more work with dogs as we have an outside tap system, hot and cold water to wash them down. They are then towelled off before coming into the house. Obviously being a small cottage with three dogs, the broom makes a daily appearance. Wooden and tiled floors are swept and mopped daily. We simply ask you to look after the dogs and cottage as if it were your own.
