Pet sitter needed for 1 week in September
I am looking for a pet sitter while I am away on a business trip for one week. As I work from home, the pets are used to company, and I would love for them to remain in their own environment. We have one dog, a 13 year old springer spaniel called Oscar, who is the friendliest dog anyone can meet. We also have a 2 year old cat, called Charlie, and a 6 month old kitten, called Maddie.
Our Home & Location
My house is slightly unusual as it is a log cabin. Me and my children love the house and its surroundings and the feel of living in the middle of nowhere. It's extremely peaceful, and is set in a quiet lane, which ends in various walking paths through fields and a wood. There is a petrol station and shop within walking distance and just a 5 minutes drive away is the local supermarket. The house is set all on 1 floor, has 3 bedrooms, 1 playroom, 1 kitchen, 1 open plan living and dining room and 1 bathroom. The back wall consists of glass doors, which open all the way so the garden becomes an extension of the house. We grow vegetables and fruit to which you would be able to help yourself. If you fancy a nice meal, you can take a walk, approx 1 hour through the woods to a village called Litton, and The Litton serves exceptional meals at reasonable prices. Otherwise Bath, Bristol and Wells are very easy to get to by car. Also nearby is Cheddar Gorge, only a 30 minute drive away.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 1 dog and 2 cats. The dog, called Oscar is a 13 year old Springer Spaniel who will require walks, but very short ones, as he is quite old. He's one of the friendliest and gentle natured dogs. Our 2 year old cat Charlie is allowed to go outside, he likes a cuddle now and again, will definitely let you know when he's hungry, although I tend to give him breakfast and dinner, which is enough. He'll spend a lot of time outdoors and will pop in now and again. Our 6 month old kitten, called Maddie, is not allowed outside yet. Maddie and Charlie are still getting used to each other, and currently we let Maddie run around the house during the morning, while Charlie is outside. She then tends to tire herself out, and will have an afternoon nap, during which Charlie can roam in and out.
