House sitting my border collie
My name is Jacky. I'm an author and self employed learning & development consultant, which means I split my time between working at home and away.
I live in Cheltenham with a 8 year old, retired working border collie called Tess, who I 'rescued' almost 2 years ago. I lost my first collie to cancer in 2015 and didn't expect to have another dog quite so soon. Tess's world has suddenly become much bigger, from field, barn and a straw bed in a shed, to house, park and all the creature comforts. She seems to be taking it all in her stride and is handling her transition extremely well, although doesn't like being left alone for long. She has started to lose her sight so is happier in familiar surroundings and on her regularly walks. Tess is a sweetheart, super company, eager to please and loves cwtches (that's cuddles to the non Wenglish)....
Tess loves to travel with me whenever possible and also has a couple of holiday homes with friends and family, but it would be great to find someone who I could trust to look after her, in her home surroundings when I'm away for work or on holiday.
Looking for an experienced and trustworthy house sitter, who loves dogs (especially collies). I live in a modern town house near Cheltenham town centre, with easy access to the beautiful Pittville Park and the stunning Cotswolds countryside.
So, if you fancy some time with Tess we would love to hear from you. + More info
Our Home & Location
My place is a modern 3 storey town house situated within walking distance of a the vibrant town of Cheltenham and close to the beautiful Pittville park.
Housesitters will enjoy a good WiFi connection and a double bedroom, with a private bathroom....
The town hosts a series of popular events throughout the year, including Jazz, Music, Science, Literature and food festivals, as well as the famous Cheltenham Races.
Cheltenham is on the edge of the stunning Cotswolds countryside with easy access to the Cotswold way and pretty villages of Winchcombe, Broadway and Burton on the Water.
The further I travel, the more I appreciate just how dog friendly the area is, with many pubs and restaurants offering a welcome watering hole for people and their furry friends. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Basic responsibility is to look after Tess in my home. Feed, walk and give her some TLC. She doesn't need too long a walk. I usually take her out a couple of times a day for an hour a time. She's obedient and we'll behaved on the lead and good in the car.
She didn't get much attention on the farm, so craves it now. She can be left home alone for around 2-3 hours. She's great at night and sleeps soundly beside my bed....
Other than that, just keeping the house safe, clean and tidy and treating it with respect. + More info
