Mandy & Alan @Rectory Farmhouse in The Cotswolds
We live in the beautiful Cotswolds, but very remote, we are not in a town, in the middle of fields with the most amazing views , waking up in the morning is amazing, even in Winter!
We have two adorable pets who are all so friendly and love cuddles, sit down you get a cat on your lap! Otis is very very special, he was a 'Pets as Therapy' dog in his younger years (when Mandy wasn't working and had the time),he is just so so gorgeous, soppy and loves everyone. He is however a supermodel as he is very tall and leggy, his name is after the great man himself - Otis Redding....
The house is 4 bedrooms with lots of bathrooms and lots of space, we keep a tidy ship though !
Walking near us is bountiful, we are very near to Shipston on Stour (Mandy works here at am amazing Deli called Taste of the Country) which is a lovely old market town, Chipping Campden is just 10 mins drive away as is Moreton in Marsh. We are surrounded by great pubs and quaint villages, it really is heaven. We are literally 2 mins from the Fosseway (A429), gateway to the Cotswolds. + More info
Our Home & Location
A lovely barn conversion farmhouse. $ bedrooms, 2 en suite and a spare bathroom. Rubbish broadband but who cares when you have this beautiful countryside around you.
It is so peaceful and quite, hope you aren't scared of the dark as it is DARK at night, no street lights here!...
You wake up to the sound of birds, we often see a buzzard , deer, Monkjacks, Hares and rabbits plus loads of silly Pheasants and Partridge.
Walk out of the door and you are walking in the fields, a small country pub is just 20 mins walk away, some great pubs only a 5-10 mins drive away. W are near Shipston on Stour, Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Campden, Hidcote (National Trust) is just 10 mins drive too. Kiftsgate (which we prefer) is also 10 mins away. there are lots of beautiful tons and villages in the Cotswolds to see and going the other direction (Warwickshire - we are on the border) Stratford upon Avon is just 20 mins drive (Otis LOVES walking long the river here), so you really have it all. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We have 1 cat , she is old but still sprightly (she has led a charmed life, no stress), they were rescue sisters, they are adorable, so sweet, black and white and sometimes hard to tell who is who, crazy names (our son gave them their names when he was just 18 months old) we have no idea where Pam came from but Shelley is his Godmother and she was quite happy to have a cat names after her. Sadly after publishing this our second cat Pam has passed away.
They need feeding twice a day is all, morning and tea time, they tend to let you know when its time......
Then Otis, our beloved Black Labrador, he is just so, so gorgeous, so friendly and loves everyone and other dogs, we would trust him with a baby. He loves a nice walk, happy off lead but he doesn't go far away from you, he tends to have a walk in the morning and then a walk later in the day, he's happy if its 10 mins or over an hour, he is so chilled. He has had no stress in his life (apart from missing his boy, our son is away in the USA at University) but he does not like GUNS or fireworks, no way, scared silly of them, so if there is a very loud bang he will shake rattle and well shiver... don't worry, just assure him its all OK, he'll give you one of his looks but he will be fine.He also needs feeding twice a day same as the cats. there is a bit of a simple routine so that Otis doesn't steel the cats food and Pam doesn't steel Shelleys food!! Shelley is the wimp but Otis is scared of the cats , well he knows his place with them, they are in charge around here! + More info
