House in the forest
Hi. I live on my own with my 2 dogs. I am semi retired and work part time as a Ceremonies Registration Officer. I love it as I mainly do weddings around the New Forest area. I am retired from the Airline industry. I did 24 years as Cabin crew and 5 years as ground staff. I'm also a retired college lecturer. I taught Travel and Tourism and Aviation for 9 years. I have a caravan and am exploring the UK now. The dogs love it too. I also still love travelling abroad
Our Home & Location
My home is located on the New Forest National Park and we get horses cows and donkeys coming to the gate. The house was originally an old School Cottage. I have extended and updated it in the last few years. Guest accommodation is downstairs with king size bed and ensuite facilities. There are French doors onto garden. The upstairs is my domain and not to be used please. There is cctv and security lights outside house. There is no street lighting as we sit in national park. A torch is useful but I have some available. The Garden is still a work in progress! From the cottage you can walk for 5 mins and you are on the open forest. I am located in a village of Thorney Hill which forms part of Bransgore village which is a mile down the hill and has all local facilities. The village of Burley is 2 miles the other way. The town's of Ringwood and Christchurch are within 6 miles distant. There is a bus service. There are so many things to do around the National Park and the coast is only 15 mins away. Larger towns or cities within easy reach are Bournemouth Poole Salisbury Southampton and Winchester.
Responsibilities & Pets
Responsibilities would be feeding and walking dogs mainly. 1 longish walk is ok but they would go all day! They are fed twice a day in the morning and evening. There is a dog flap so they can be left. Please please make sure the front gate is always closed. Not just for safety of dogs but to prevent the forest animals getting in and believe me they will be in the garden before you know it. Please be careful.
