DOG SITTER NEEDED FOR 14-16 DAYS IN JANUARY 2019 (DATES FLEXIBLE) FOR 2 DOBERMANS
We are a couple in our 50's, looking for a house sitter for 2 weeks during JANUARY 2019. We have a 2 friendly dobermans and live in the country near Ripponden in a barn conversion. Lovely views. Not suitable for families with young children, but teenagers ok
Our Home & Location
Lovely 4 bedroom semi detached barn conversion in the country near Ripponden. The house has a large block paving driveway way on 2 sides with a double garage. The entrance is at the rear via a open porch. At the front of the property there is a garden. The property is secure as regards the dogs with appropriate gates and fencing. Inside the house is an entrance hall with a downstairs toilet and hall cupboard. This leads to a very large well equipped kitchen with dining table and central isle. Off the kitchen is a sitting room which leads to a large lounge with wood burner. From the sitting room, there are stairs up to 3 double bedrooms (one with a mezzanine) , an office and a large double sink bathroom with double sink, bidet, double shower and free standing bath.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our dogs are fed 3 times a day - early morning, dinner time (4pm - 6pm) and bedtime. Due to the risk of bloat, the dogs need an hour rest after food before walking or after walking they need an hour of rest before feeding. The dogs are walked typically 30-60min x 3 times a day (typically early morning after breakfast, mid afternoon, and early evening). Due to being rescue dogs and not being socialised when young, they are both fearful. They are both lovely dogs and very soft. Max is terrified of other dogs and will nip them to advise them to get away from him. He has also reacted with people in a fear situation and nipped. We now know how to manage these situations. We walk in places where we hardly ever meet people or other dogs. They are both pretty great off the lead and have been trained to respond to a whistle. Tia is sometimes a bit naughty if she gets a scent but Max stays close. There are great places to walk near us.
