Saffy loves walking by The Thames
I used to be a teacher but now work part time for MIND in a local shop. Saffy is my much loved dog. She is a rescue dog whom I've had for 9 years. Although adorable she does have high anxiety and IBS. All this means is she's on a restricted diet, poops a lot on our walks and hates being left alone! I have to prop all the interior doors open before I leave the house!! She loves sitting on her rug on the sofa, sleeps on her rug on my bed and loves playing ball. All in all we lead a very busy life!!
Our Home & Location
We are very lucky to live only 5 minutes from the Thames and are able to go on many picturesque walks along the Thames, around Chiswick House and Gardens, through Dukes Meadows and more. All the pubs along the river are dog friendly which Saffy likes!
Chiswick mainline station is a 4 minute walk away and catching a train there will get you into Waterloo in under 30 minutes. The 272 bus comes down my street and can take you up to the Chiswick High Road or all the way to Westfield. The E3 bus nearby also goes to Chiswick High Road and stops near Turnham Green Station where you can catch a District line train....
There are some great shops in the High Road along with restaurants, pubs and cafes. Turnham Green Terrace is off the High Road and leads to the tube station. Closer to home there are some corner shops at the end of my road- an off license, hairdresser, chemist, cafe, dry cleaner and newsagent.
Once home, I have almost finished renovating- only 1 room to go but the rest of the house is very comfy with 2 other bedrooms, a separate bathroom and wc, and a large living/dining room leading out onto a back porch overlooking my tiny garden which is in an ongoing state of landscaping, although my grape vine did produce 8 kilos of grapes this year! + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Saffy loves to have her breakfast then go for a long walk on the lead (although I do let her off the lead in Dukes Meadows and on the Thames tow path on the other side of the river.
She is on a restricted diet so no treats , even so she will still poop a lot, some normal then runnier... this does not affect her in any way and after discussion with her vet W feel the best way forward is to continue as we are....
If you go out you must prop all the interior doors open and leave the radio on for her. If you stay home she will probably want to be close to you....she is allowed on the sofa only when her rug is on her part of the sofa. At night she will probably want to sleep under your bed- she does sometimes snore.
A second walk is usually mid to late afternoon although I have taken her out early evening.
She's pretty good at communicating with you if she needs to go in the back garden. She will never poop in the garden which is great! Although she is gradually killing off my lawn!
She has supper when I do. Oh, she won't eat unless you are close by and the back door is open.
As she is a rescue dog she is very submissive but also very determined. + More info
