Northwood 3 in need of sitter
We are a couple with an active holiday life and are looking for a pet sitter whilst we are travelling to follow our passion for scuba diving and underwater photography. Previously, Bryce's parents had looked after our pets, however due to unforeseen health issues they are not able to travel at present.
We both working within Finance, albeit at different ends of the commercial spectrum. Florence works at a charity, whilst Bryce manages Finance projects and business partners the Supply Chain at Coca-Cola European Partners....
Outside of travelling we both enjoy the theatre, whether that be musicals and plays in the West End, the more high brow at the National Theatre or Shakespeare's Globe or smaller productions at the Hampstead Theatre in Swiss Cottage.
Additional we love eating out and can provide an extensive list of recommendations for local restaurants.
We have not used Trusted Housesitters before but have been recommended this site through a close friend. + More info
Our Home & Location
We live in Northwood. which is on the edge of London. We are about 15 minutes walk to the nearest underground station (Northwood on the Metropolitan line.) and there is a bus stop two minutes away (to Uxbridge or Ruslip). The underground station is approximately 45mins from central London and the West End.
There is a Waitrose, Boots, and other convenient shops in Northwood. There is a choice of some really lovely restaurants in Northwood including chinese, indians, italians and a really lovely Argentinian steakhouse. The nearest pub is 10 minutes walk from the house. Close to Northwood are Northwood Hills, Ruislip, Pinner, Moor Park and Ricksmansworth where you will find additional selection of restaurants and shops....
Our house has 5 bedrooms (but one of them is really a room for the cats). There is a small back garden but it has access to very large open fields behind. We spend most of our time in the sitting room, which opens onto the garden. We also have a garage where there is additional storage and a additional fridge and a freezer if they are needed. The spacious sitting room has ample seating, with at TV with access to Sky and Amazon Prime - additionally we have an extensive collection of DVD films and box sets
The house sitter will stay in an on suite double bedroom (shower and toilet) and also has a TV with access to Sky. There is a main bathroom where there is a bath and a further shower. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and the utility room is where you will find a washing machine and tumble dryer. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Jessie, our dog, will need to be walked and let out in the garden for toileting. She is very well behaved in the house and can be left on her own in the sitting room with the door close over night. She loves attention but will not demand it. She will only play fetch when she feels like it. She really enjoys her walk in the park but will need to be on a lead. Jessie will need feeding twice a day (breakfast and dinner). We only use treat as positive reinforcement. Although she is happy to be on her own overnight, we don't want her to be left on her own for more than 3 hours during the day.
Our cats, Whisper and Gus, are quite shy but once they get to know you, they like attention. They are coping well with having a doggy friend in the house but we still have a few barrier gates around the house to keep them safe. We would recommend that they are treated as house cats whilst we are away and keep indoors....
We leave dry food for them to graze on but twice a day we will give them a little bit of wet food. Gus loves Thrives and Whisper loves cat paste and both will do a "stand" for their favourite treats. They both use the litter tray, so the litter trays in the house will need to be emptied. We use World's Best litter, it clumps in contact and can be scooped out very easily, which means the only the clumped litters need to be scooped out and there isn't a need to clean the litter tray during that period. + More info
