Ruby & Tiger Lily seek friendly carer while owners go on holiday
We're planning a two week holiday to Portugal with our respective families and hoping to find someone to look after our 5 year old Lab Collie Cross, Ruby, and Tiger Lily our 16 year old cat. Situated in the National Forest we live in a quiet cul-de-sac with off street parking, lovely neighbours and close to plenty of woodlands, open spaces and waterways for lovely walks.
Our Home & Location
Our home is a comfortable 4 bedroom detached house located in Church Gresley. With a lovely open plan living space overlooking a low maintenance garden, the kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons. Downstairs there is also a separate dining room and a WC with the family bathroom upstairs. We do have an internal (downstairs only) and external CCTV system.
There's lots to see and do in and around the nearest town of Swadlincote as well as plenty of walks on our doorstep. Calke Abbey, the National Arboretum, Foremarke Resevoir and the largest inland marina, Mercia Marina with shops, restaurants and a lovely canal walk, are all a short drive away. There's a dry ski slope in the town centre, a cinema, good shopping facilities as well as some lovely pubs discovered on our walks....
We have a pair of mountain bikes available and could arrange for the use of one of our cars, subject to insurance. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Ruby, a rescue dog, loves company and needs at least one walk a day, around an hour is ideal. She is ok to be left alone in the house for a while and travels well in cars (only occasionally barking at other dogs along the way). She is well-behaved in pubs during or after our long walks. Ruby's interactions with other dogs can be variable so we tend to keep her on the lead on approach, letting her off again once the coast is clear. She's has two meals a day of dry food! Tiger Lily is self sufficient, although loves a snuggle from time to time and, like the topical fish, only needs feeding once a day.
