Spacious 3 bedroom house in quiet location in Brighton and Hove
We're dual national citizens who live Brighton and Hove in the UK but frequently travel to the US, as well as around Europe for holidays. We can be gone for up to a month at a time, which is a long time to put the dogs in a kennel! We really prefer to have someone stay in our own home, both to care for the dogs as well as the rats, house and garden. We've had lovely house sitters in the past, and we hope to have more great experiences in the future!
Our Home & Location
Brighton and Hove
Brighton is a vibrant city full of artistic and cultural venues, amazing restaurants, and gorgeous architecture. Ideally situated, the city sits on the beach and right at the foot of the South Downs, and is only an hour away from London by train. Whether you enjoy taking in the best of the city, exploring the Brighton Pavilion, the North Laine, or the Palace Pier, or taking long walks in the gorgeous countryside, Brighton has a bit of everything.
Our three-bedroom, semi-detached house is situated in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood in Hove. We have excellent public transport links, with a direct bus to the city centre stopping only meters from our front door....
We have both a front and back garden with a lovely back deck for sipping morning coffee or having a meal on warm nights. We also have a seating area with a fire pit/barbeque if you enjoy grilling steaks or just sitting around a fire with a cocktail or two!
We have a large, vaulted-ceiling kitchen with plenty of space to prepare food as well as featuring a large table that seats six.
Living room and study
We have a cozy, light-filled living room with a television and excellent sound system set up with Netflix and Amazon. The study features a baby grand piano and french doors that open onto the back deck. A folding futon allows extra guests a place to sleep.
The master bedroom features a four-poster bed, windows along opposite walls, and an empty dresser for your clothing storage.
One bedroom has a single bed, a dresser for clothes and plenty of space for a children to play! (Please note that the second child's room is not available at this time, as my daughter has requested that her room be left alone, except for the feeding and care of her rats. )
We have two bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom only features a shower as well as toilet and sink. The upstairs bathroom has a full bath/shower as well as toilet and sink. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
During your stay, the dogs would need to be fed twice daily (in the morning and evening), and Pia would need daily arthritis medication, given once a day in the morning after her breakfast (she loves the flavor of her pills, so this is not a problem - she thinks it's a treat!).
The rats won't require personal interaction if you aren't comfortable with this (although they do love a cuddle!). They'll need their food and water checked daily, but these only usually need to be refilled every few days....
House plants and garden
The plants will need to be watered every other day (the garden will only need to be watered if it hasn't rained). + More info
