We have two black labradors, one age 10 and one aged 15 months who need walking and loving!
My husband John and myself are retired and are wanting to do more travelling ourselves but would like our two dogs to be able to stay at home in an environment that they know. We live in a cottage in a very pretty part of Suffolk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are 9 miles from Colchester and 10 from Ipswich with Hadleigh and Sudbury being our nearest small towns.
Our Home & Location
Our cottage is on Polstead Green opposite The Cock pub and within 50 yards we have a small Community Shop and Post Office. The shop stocks local produce and also general household goods and is run entirely voluntarily. We are about a mile from Stoke by Nayland which has a very good gastro pub, The Crown. We have lovely walks from the house and will leave a footpath map. Hadleigh, the nearest town which is about 10 minutes drive has two supermarkets, The Coop and Morrisons but also has some other boutique type shops. There are lovely villages nearby to visit including Kersey, Lavenham, Long Melford, Dedham and Flatford Mill of John Constable fame. There is no bus service so a car is necessary. The Village Hall in Polstead also has film nights every other month and generally they are films that have just been released on DVD. The shop is generally the place to get information and has all the local magazines for information and what is going on. There is an excellent health centre in Hadleigh and the nearest hospitals are Ipswich and Colchester.
Responsibilities & Pets
With regards to responsibilities we would like the dogs to be walked every day for up to an hour. They are fed in the morning and evening. They do like lots of love!! The house does need some cleaning with two labradors moulting (apparently all the time!).
