Our Home & Location
We have lived at Highfield for over 20 years.
It is a detached Victorian house, in the popular suburb of Chapel Allerton, known as the Notting Hill of the North!
There are lots of shops, restaurants & bars within a 10 minute walk, including a great fruit shop, fishmonger, butcher & cheese shop.
There is also a local park with free tennis courts, and a private bowls club.
We overlook Gledhow Valley Woods, a popular walking area.
We are less than 3 miles from Leeds City Centre, with good bus services to Leeds, Harrogate & Ripon.
The house is set in a very peaceful location, within a 2 acre site, one acre of which is a field where our 3 Kune Kune pigs live. They are very friendly and will sit for a banana!
The garden contains a fruit orchard, herb garden, chicken run and lots of places to sit and relax.
If you enjoy cooking, there are plenty of fresh eggs from our girls, as well as seasonal fruits & herbs.
In side the house there there is a well equipped family kitchen with a 4 oven Aga.
we have two sitting rooms with working coal fires and plenty of books, a dining room and comfortable beds!
We have satellite TV with all the movies & sports channels, along with fast fibre broadband and landline....
The well known Roundhay Park is 2 miles away and Harewood House is 7 miles away, both on direct bus routes. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Our housesitters will need to feed the animals every morning and collect the eggs.
The dog & cats also need feeding in the evening....
Kali (our cockapoo) is walked once a day for an hour or two.
We don't generally leave Kali on her own for more than 2 or 3 hours during the day.
The house needs minimal care and we have a regular gardener. + More info
