Gorgeous Home - Gorgeous Dogs
Hi, I am a professional speaker so I travel a lot. I teach business and entrepreneurship. I have been a dog lover since I was 3 years old. I actually bought the two acres of land and built the home I am in now mainly because of my previous two Jack Russels so they would have a lot of room to play in. That should tell you everything. lol.
Our Home & Location
I lost several dogs on the road growing up so swore I would always live in a cul-de-sac. This is the last house a charming cul-de-sac and I actually had this house built on 2 acres of land just for my dogs. It's a beautiful and quiet area on the edge of the Charnwood Forest with wonderful natural parks, reindeer, waterfalls and woods. It is also only a 10-minute drive from the city centre and a 3-minute drive from the local village and shops. Lots of takeaways deliver to the house too which has four bedrooms, a large guest room with ensuite and a two-acre paddock.
Responsibilities & Pets
Jack Russels require a lot of exercises and these two are no exception. Two walks a day (Morning and evening) will drain their battery. The morning will require taking them out (there are several routes and parks nearby I can show you) and evening can be done in the paddock with a laser pen they love to chase. They also love attention and have none of the aggression of typical Jack Russels (they even run away from chihuahuas, its embarrassing lol). They need feeding twice a day and a strict raw food diet is followed with fully prepared food and scales provided.
The dogs are 3 years old twins, inseparable and both are exceptionally well trained. They have a large vocabulary of over 30 words, half of which are backed up with hand signals. You don't have to learn them all, it's just to demonstrate that you can actually talk to them and they are both intelligent and highly obedient. I am a great believer that the amount of time you invest in a dog during the first 6-months to a year, will pay you back for the next 15. I therefore put a LOT of training in with these guys and it has paid off very well. I have never used a lead with them as they are on a verbal lead and respond instantly to command. However, leads can be supplied and should be used if walking near roads, at least until you have confidence in using commands and they are used to taking them from you etc....
They love to play will sleep next to you if you let them and love company and attention. Archie in particular will be happy for you to throw the ball down the paddock all day if you let him.
In short, they are no trouble and amazing friends and companions. + More info
