Lewes, East Sussex - dog. cat, two bed house.
I am a painter and travel fairly frequently, often in the course of doing research for my work.
I live in a quiet street in central Lewes-shops, railway station, buses all within very easy walking distance. My daughter and grand daughter live close by. I often spend a couple of days or so in London with my son and travel abroad frequently, both for short and longer periods.
Our Home & Location
My house is a pretty two bedroom, Georgian terraced house-with south-west facing small garden/yard. It is fully equipped with comfortable beds in the two double bedrooms. It is in a quiet and very friendly street, with no through traffic. Lewes town centre, the castle, the Priory ruins, the railway station and other attractions (including Anne of Cleves house) are all within 5 to 10 minutes walk. It is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Sussex countryside, or visit Brighton which is a 15 minute train journey away. Lewes Station is four minutes walk away. There is parking in the street and close by. Lewes has a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and a brilliant new three screen independent cinema just five minutes walk away, complete with bar, cafe and restaurant.
Responsibilities & Pets
Holly (my dog) and Millie (my cat) are both gentle, friendly, well-behaved animals. Holly is nearly 16 years old (chocolate Labrador) and just manages a slow, gentle half hour walk every day, usually in the mornings. Millie comes and goes through her catflap at the back of the house, but I don’t let her into the street at the front. The animals are fed twice a day (first thing and around 5 PM) and have a few biscuits at night time! Holly likes to go out into the yard several times a day and especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night and I clear up after her straightaway, as necessary. Holly sleeps most of the time, but is very companionable and loves everybody. I don’t tend to leave her for more than three or four hours at a time. Millie is a cat who loves people and likes to sit on your lap if you’re sitting on the sofa. I also have very good neighbours-particularly Sarah three or four doors down, who will always feed Millie or Holly in an emergency.
