*URGENT* Two gentle girl cats, some tropical fish and a greenhouse .
I am a retired science teacher, who lives alone (my partner and I have separate homes). I have two rescue cats, Amber and Poppy, sisters who had been very badly treated and when I first had them, and were very undernourished and nervous. However, three years later, they are a delight, calm, gentle, friendly, and fully grown. (some would say Amber is a bit on the chubby side..!). I own a house in Spain and go there with my partner often, but I want the girls to stay in their own home, with their big garden to play in, so a sitter (s) would be perfect! There is also a greenhouse to water, if its warm.
Our Home & Location
I live in a four bedroomed, semi detached house, on the edge of a market town in East Sussex. The house has a large garden, with a summerhouse, garages and parking for 3 cars. The sitter would have the front easterly double bedroom with a view to Eastbourne and the Downs, and a private bathroom next door with all amenities. There is infinity broadband throughout the property, including in the summerhouse! There is a large lounge with large flat screen TV, DVD player, and hi fi equipment. Similarly a large kitchen diner with a range cooker and TV.The house is roughly equidistant between Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells, both a 25 minute drive. You can get to either by bus, but a car is better for getting around into the beautiful countryside, including the Seven Sisters, Ashdown Forest, Beachy Head, Seaford Head and many walks in the local countryside, or visiting an ancient country pub or church. There are plenty of historical sites in the area too, Herstmonceux Castle, Bodiam Castle, and many National Trust properties and gardens, such as Sheffield Park, within easy reach. Bird watchers would have easy access to Rye Nature Reserve, Dungeness , Pulborough Brooks as well as Ashdown Forest. Central London is an easy day trip, only one hour on the train from the local station.
Responsibilities & Pets
My 'girls' would need looking after, feeding twice a day, and given the odd cuddle! They have their own micro chip operated cat flap so that they can come and go as they please, even at night. They are not allowed upstairs. They are confined to the kitchen at night and only allowed in the lounge if someone is there , or they claw the carpet! They have a set routine and will do anything for Dreamies! They spend a lot of time out in the big garden in the summer, plus sleeping in the summerhouse. The fish require their light switching on in the day and off at night, and a pinch of food. The greenhouse will require watering in the summer months and the pots, baskets and tubs. The sitter (s) would have full access to the whole property, except the master bedroom.
