Cosy cottage and cat in Hastings
I live in the West Hill of Hastings with my gorgeous cat Wiggy.
Our Home & Location
My home is a lovely little 2 bedroom cottage on the West Hill of Hastings. It’s close the castle and smugglers caves and there are lovely views of the sea just a few minutes away from the top of the West Hill. It is 10 minutes from the historic old town of Hastings, which is packed full of great local shops and cool bars and cafes and is also where you’ll find the Jerwood Art Gallery. 5 minutes further on is gorgeous Rock-a-Nore beach, perfect for swimming and picnics on the beach, with views back over the cliffs.
The East Hill of Hastings provides access to the country park - the starting point for for great walks along the coast to Fairlight, Pett, Winchelsea and Rye. These are amazing walks with stunning coastal views....
In the new town, 10 minutes in the other direction are more mainstream shops & a supermarket, as well as some more unusual independent shops and cafes and the award winning pier. Half an hour walk down the seafront is St Leonards, with more interesting shops, bars and cafes. You can also do a lovely walk or cycle along the coast to Bexhill where you’ll find the iconic art deco De La Warr Pavilion.
There are also lots of great places to visit in the wider area if you have a car, such as the beautiful gardens at Sissinghurst Castle (former home of Vita Sackville West) and Charleston (the Bloomsbury home of art and ideas). The historic town of Lewes is just under an hour away on the train, and buzzing Brighton just over an hour. Rye, Winchelsea and Battle are other nearby places of interest. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Feeding and caring for cat. Wiggy needs medication for arthritis - one tablet sprinkled on food each morning. Wiggy is a very happy and chatty cat. She likes lots of attention and sleeps on the bed. She still likes the occasional string game. Everyone who meets her adores her. She’s a very special girl.
