Country retreat 15 minutes from the centre of Bath!
We're the Saundersons, made up of Jamie (graphic designer), Kate (record company IT nerd), 2 year old Polly (gorgeous but a terror) and 6 year old Monty the border terrier (can be won over by belly rubs and cuddle). We've recently moved to our lovely country location and very occasionally would like to head away without Monty - hence we need a dog and house sitter!
Our Home & Location
We live in Limpley Stoke in a detached house surrounded by an acre of garden, which is half way between Bath & Bradford-on-Avon - about 10-15 minutes from the centre of each. There's even a train station at the bottom of the hill (Freshford) which is a rarity in the British countryside - although to get full use of the area you would need a car.
Limpley Stoke is in the southern tip of the Cotswolds and is set in truly beautiful surroundings. As well as obviously being right by some historic towns & cities, we're surrounded by lovely walks in the hills, along the rivers Avon & From and the Kennet & Avon canal. To be this rural and yet only a few minutes from the centre of Bath is a total treat!...
We've got a guest room which you'd be staying in, with a comfortable double bed etc. We'd provide linen, towels etc for you stay as well. There are plenty of eating options - table in the kitchen as well as a couple of tables in different places around the garden (plus you'd be welcome to any veg that are available in the veg garden!). Of course, there are loads of country pubs nearby, as well as plenty of places in Bath and beyond. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
There are 2 main responsibilities if you stay here - feeding, walking and cuddling Monty is the main one! He is a super relaxed dog who has simple needs - belly rubs, food, more belly rubs and walks. He doesn’t like to be left alone for much more than a couple of hours, however he’s perfectly happy to travel with you, sit in pubs with you and even go shopping with you (although we’ve never tied him up outside a shop, so dog friendly shopping only!!).
We also have some raised beds which need tending, so you'd be welcome to eat whatever veg is produced during your stay as long as you water the veg (if needed) and do some bug killing (if needed)! If you fancy pottering in the garden, that'd be great but not essential - deadheading the roses would be a great help if nothing else...
