Happy character home in a beautiful old village on the edge of the Cotswolds
Hello, Thank you for reading our profile. We are a family of five who love all animals, especially our four legged friends, of which we have four. Two dogs and two cats. I’m a glass artist, holistic therapist and mum to our three daughters. My husband works for a software company working from home and commuting to London. We have lived in this beautiful village for thirteen years. We take a couple of holidays a year and we are looking for experienced animal loving pet sitters to care for our furry friends while we are away.
Our Home & Location
We live in Frampton On Severn. It’s a picturesque village on the edge of the Cotswolds. It has a twenty acre village green that our house looks over. There are three ponds on the green with lots of wildlife. Two village pubs at either end of The Green, a village shop and three cafes, one looks over the canal. A few lakes, one of which is a sailing lake and club. Fantastic walks along the River Severn, the canal and around the lakes. A wealth of footpaths. Great for cycling ( We’ve got bikes that you are welcome to borrow) . The train station is only 10 mins by car to Stonehouse or Cam/Dursley with links to London. The town of Stroud is 20 mins by car, 25 to Cheltenham and approx 35 mins to Bristol.
We have a five bedroomed house that has been recently refurbished with a new modern kitchen with aga, 2 new bathrooms, newly decorated rooms and new carpets. Two reception rooms, one has a real fire and a large utility room. We have a large enclosed sunny garden with a hot tub. Off road parking too.
Responsibilities & Pets
It would be great if the dogs had a walk twice a day, preferably off the lead once they get to the fields. Both dogs fed twice a day, in the morning and after lunch ish. They love plenty of cuddles and regular trips into the garden. At bed time they go in their crates but we leave them open.
We have two cats one grey and white one who is very friendly and loves nothing more than eating and lazing around in the sun or on a lap, once he gets to know you. Our tabby cat just likes to have the occasional stroke and food. They just need water and their dry food topped up. The tabby likes a couple of wet food sachets a day too, when he’s in the house, usually in the morning and evening. Our cats don’t always get on so I make sure there are a couple of places for them to eat, to avoid any scuffles!! There is a cat litter that will need changing weekly and cleaning away any poop! . We have a snake who is small and friendly, who can be rehomed for the holiday if you are not keen on snakes. He will be fed before we leave so he will need no care apart from a water top up every few mornings. He is always in his hide at this time and won’t come out when you change the water. I will give you plenty of info about the animals likes and dislikes before you stay. They are all lovely and great characters.
