Sitter(s) Required For Two Energetic Rescue Dogs
We are Sian & Phil, a professional couple who require a sitter(s) for their two energetic rescue fur babies while we take a much needed holiday! (12 months of house renovation and full time jobs has taken it's toll)
We've never done this before and would love it if you have.
We're not keen for our boys to go into kennels since they're both rescue dogs, we'd much rather they stay at home with some caring company....
Floyd the Patterdale is a cheeky terrier and fully lives up to the Patterdale breed. He loves nothing more than a cuddle and a wrestle with his big brother.
He is fear reactive toward other dogs while out (we're not sure what happened in his past), so he does wear a muzzle and is kept on a lead during his walks. As long as he gets to have a sniff along the way, he's happy to wear his muzzle on his walk.
Blue the blue eyed collie (Mum's blue eyed boy) is a typical collie.
Too clever for his own good - he's got plenty of tricks he'd be happy to show you for a treat or a throw of his ball.
You'd better have a good throwing arm, he will retrieve his ball all day long!!
Blue has excellent recall so he's perfectly fine to be off lead when on his walks in the park...he'll never go too far from you if you've got the ball, how else will he make sure you'll throw it again?!
Blue is a little nervous of people he doesn't know (this comes from him being tied up outside from ten weeks old before he was rescued), but once you've gained his trust or thrown the ball for him, you'll have yourself a new friend.
If you'd be up for meeting us and our boys a couple of times before hand, this would be a massive bonus. Give us all a chance to get to get to know one another. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our house in a pretty good location.
It's in a quiet little square where nothing much happens.
We've just spent the last 12 months renovating it. It was completely gutted (not planned!) and put back together again. It's still a working progress, and we've needed a break from it to look forward to - hence the holiday.
We've got a working log burner and plenty of wood, so help yourself and get toasty!
We've also got sky tv and a netflix account should you want to catch up on your latest box set addiction.
The house is minutes away from the end of the M62 and makes us really easy to find.
We're about a 10 - 15 minute drive into Liverpool city centre and all it's major attractions. (Regular buses also available)
We'll leave you a "must go see" guide if you like.
10 minute drive from Anfield football stadium, if that's what you're in too.
20 minute drive from Crosby Beach, which is home to Antony Gormley's Another Place and Crosby Marina.
10 minutes drive from Croxteth Country Park and Hall....
There is a large Tesco and an Aldi round the corner, as well as a new retail park (opening November 2017), so you're never too far from supplies. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Our main priority is our boys.
As long as they are fed, watered, walked and cared for like your own, we'll be happy.
They are fed twice a day.
They are walked twice a day - in all weathers, however they'll be fine if you miss a day.
Floyd wears a harness and a muzzle as he's fear reactive towards other dogs he doesn't know. He's kept on a lead at all times while out. This is more for his own protection as he has zero recall while out in the big wide world - it's far more interesting than us!
Blue wears a harness and can be let off lead while out in the park. He has fantastic recall, and will always keep an eye on you...especially if you've taken a ball out with you.
If you wouldn't mind doing poo patrol in the garden, that would be great. They have a dog flap, so they take themselves in and out. The flap gets left open during the day, so if you need to go out for a few hours, they've at least got some access to the garden....
Cuddles and plenty of strokes - the dogs, not us!
Floyd loves a cuddle. He loves nothing more than cuddling up to you on the couch in a little tight ball and falling asleep.
Blue will probably take up most of the couch, as in true Collie style, he'll be on his back, legs a kimbo, snoring. He loves a good chest/belly rub.
If you wouldn't mind popping the bins out on a Friday, that would be great too. + More info
