Great North London Housesit
Hi there. We are a family of 4 - our little boy Jack is 2.5 years and our very new addition Alex is 5 months . I am a vet and my wife works for a mental health charity. We are off to a family wedding and are looking for an individual or a family to look after our house and our 2 special pets Billy the dog and Marvin the cat.
Our Home & Location
We live in a semi-detached 3 bedroom house on a quiet road in East Barnet, a suburb of North London. Our house consists of a recently renovated lounge-diner, kitchen, utility room, playroom, two good sized double bedrooms and one little single room with a cot. There's a newly furnished family bathroom upstairs and a shower room and toilet downstairs. We also have a decent sized garden with a large charcoal BBQ.
We are 5 minutes walk away from Oak Hill Park which is a lovely place to walk the dog or sit and have a cup of tea in the cafe. East Barnet Village is about a 7 minute walk and has a useful Co-Op, bakery, pharmacy, cafes, etc. Whetstone high street is bigger, it's a 15 minute walk and has lots of really nice restaurants and shops including Waitrose, Boots, and M&S. And the very beautiful Trent Country Park is a short drive away too....
It is very easy to get into central London from our house. There is a train station at the end of our road so you can be in Kings Cross in 20 minutes, and there are many buses nearby too. There is plenty of free parking on our street too. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Looking after Billy, our little dog. He's pretty easy to look after - we normally give him one short walk in the morning and then a longer one in the park later so he can chase a ball and run around. We prefer not to leave him alone in the house for more than three or four hours at a time though. Other than that, we need someone to feed Marvin the cat (like most cats, he looks after himself on the whole and just needs feeding - he has a cat flap), and to water the plants every couple of days in Summer.
