London - house, garden & the cutest of cats
We are a young couple living in London who are looking for someone to give some company to our lovely cat lady. When we travel we used to get a cat sitter in to visit once a day but Kitty gets lonely, so we thought of trying a house sitter who can then also enjoy our wonderful home.
Our Home & Location
We live in Walthamstow which is a lovely borough that has lots of cultural offerings as well as great eats, but is also not as busy as central London. However Oxford Circus and Liverpool street are just max 20 minutes by tube. Our house is about 5-7 minutes by foot from the tube station.
The house is a classical Victorian house with 2 bedrooms upstairs, a bathroom and a loo and then downstairs a lovely spacious combined living and dining area, kitchen and a utility room. We also have a garden with a deck in the back where you can have barbecues or just hang out and enjoy the afternoon sun. We're growing lots of veg, so you might be able to pluck your own tomatoes or courgettes while you stay....
Walthamstow is a very nice area, the village - a sweet pedestrianised area with great restaurant and pubs is also max 10 minutes by foot and we can give you lots of tips on where you can eat great food. The marshes are also just about 15 minutes away - maybe even less. They are so lovely for nice long afternoon walks. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
As our house sitter your most important task is to care for our cat. She usually gets food twice a day (and the occasional bit in between when we are at home). She is quite independent but can also get really cuddly - she will show when it is time for cuddles. She mostly just enjoys company, so that is the most important thing. This does not mean that you have to be at home all the time - we both work all day, so we are with her in the morning and evening (unless we go out) - it's just that one 30 minute visit by the cat sitters that we had was just not enough.
We would also be very happy if you watered our plants, especially when it is very hot and sunny - both in the garden and outside.
