Come and sit in Rico's house, in the heart of Kingston-upon-Thames
Hello there! We are Carlos, Irene, Lucas and Rico. Lucas is our 8-month-old baby and Rico is our almost 3 years old Labrador. Carlos and I are Spanish, but we have been living in the UK for 8 years, 6 of which here in our house in Kingston-upon-Thames. Carlos is a languages teacher at a local secondary school and I am a software engineer currently on maternity leave.
We love Kingston as it is by the river and it is surrounded by beautiful green areas where Rico enjoys running around and are just minutes away from our house....
Rico has filled our lives with great companionship and unconditional love. He is really friendly, excellent with kids and babies and very protective of anyone that shows him the slightest amount of affection and care. He just loves attention (and food!). We love travelling with him so he is used to different places, people and climates. He has always managed to adapt to changes smoothly. Whenever we have flown out he has either stayed at someone else's place or has stayed home with a sitter. + More info
Our Home & Location
Our house is situated in Kingston-upon-Thames, a very lively town in Surrey, south west of central London. It is a two bedroom end-of-terrace house with a terrace, a living room, a kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom.
Kingston is very well connected. Kingston rail station is a 15-minute-walk from our house, with direct trains to central london (25 minutes into London Waterloo station). There are endless buses connecting you to towns around (Richmond, Teddington, Twickenham, Wimbledon, etc.). There are also great opportunities for walking around beautiful green areas: Home park (Hampton Court Palace's gardens), Bushy park (just on the other side of the road from Home park) or Richmond park (a 10-minute-drive away). On both sides of the river there are also nice walks, with pet friendly pubs and restaurants along the way.
Responsibilities & Pets
We feed Rico twice a day (morning and evening). He is so greedy that we have chosen to divide his daily intake in two, just to give him the pleasure of eating twice. We normally walk him three times a day: a longer walk (around an hour) and two smaller walks (10-15 minutes).
At home Rico is not allowed in the kitchen or our bedroom. He knows this, he is well trained and he respects this even when we are not home or he is sleeping downstairs on his own....
We have a cleaner who comes home once per week on a Friday, so you shouldn't need to worry about cleaning, although we normally vacuum the house as needed during the week due to Rico's shedding. + More info
