3 DOGS IN LEICESTERSHIRE NEED YOU TO LOOK AFTER THEM!!!
We are a retired couple in our 60s. We worked as a GP and a Retail pharmacist. We enjoy travelling and we have an apartment in Spain and a motor caravan. We try to take our dogs with us on holiday as often as possible, but we enjoy cruises and also short breaks to our apartment in winter months, so we need a pet sitter on these occasions. We love walking and the dogs are used to walking at least one hour every day and often more. We also have a horse but she is kept at a livery yard about 15 miles from home.
Our Home & Location
Our house is a modern 4 bedroomed house in a village called Mountsorrel which is near to Loughborough and Leicester. The house has gas central heating and a woodburner in the lounge. There is a gas hob and 2 electric ovens/grills. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac and has a good sized, fully enclosed rear garden. Mountsorrel is a medium sized village with amenities including a Co-Op small supermarket, a pharmacy and several pubs including a riverside pub. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool, gym and exercise classes within easy walking distance of our house. Despite being a moderate sized village, Mountsorrel is surrounded by lovely countryside and other interesting villages. The area has plenty of interesting places to walk, including Swithland Woods, The Outwoods and Bradgate Park. The river Soar is nearby with riverside walks and also Watermead Park. Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham are within easy driving distance and there is a bus stop near the house to go to Leicester or Loughborough. The nearby village of Quorn has many good restaurants and pubs and there are other country pubs and riverside pubs nearby. Leicester has The Richard III exhibition, The Space Centre and a good theatre and cinemas. There are cinemas nearby also in Loughborough and The Meridien Leisure Park.
A car is not essential, however most of the countryside walking nearby can be accessed by car but not public transport.
Responsibilities & Pets
Most importantly we need somebody to love and care for our 3 dogs in our absence.
The dogs are all very friendly. Alfie is a typical poodle-very intelligent but needy. He likes to be the centre of attention. He suffers from epilepsy but is not on any medication and has infrequent fits. Pepsi is the boss-she is not afraid of any dog, even one ten times her size! She gets very excited about going for walks and loves to paddle and swim in streams and rivers. She like her tummy rubs and her home comforts.Max is a rescue dog from Spain-he is very quiet and gentle, but a little shy. He is quite independent and doesn't always stay in the same room as everybody else. He has built a den under a tree in the garden this summer where he spends hours sleeping in a hollow of earth to keep cool! He like some love and affection once he gets to know you and when Alfie will let him have some! All 3 sleep in the bedroom with us and Alfie and Max sometimes like to sleep on the bed!...
As long as the dogs are happy then we are happy!
Incidental responsibilities would be usual household stuff such putting out the bins, taking in the post and mowing the lawn if necessary. + More info
