Town and country with Kiwi
I am an 80 year old former social worker and university teacher. I have been a widow for ten years and have spent much of that time travelling, gardening, dog walking and generally enjoying life. I have not had house sitters before so this is a new adventure for me.
Our Home & Location
I live just a mile from the town centre where there is a twice weekly outdoor market and a full range of shops. An entrance to the university is at the end of the road where there is an Olympic length swimming pool, rugby on Saturday afternoons and various music and film events.
There are two cinemas as well as a small theatre at the town hall, which hosts a variety of shows....
There are regular buses to the town with connections for Leicester and Nottingham, which both offer interesting museum, art gallery, and cultural opportunities.
A short walk from the house (1mile) gives access to woodland walks, as well as a huge recreation area, which Kiwi loves as she can ball chase there. A small avenue of shops within a few minutes includes a pharmacy, grocery and newspapers, hairdresser and Chinese take away as well as a patisserie and coffee shop.
I have a twin bedded room upstairs for the sitter(s). + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Kiwi needs a really good walk each morning after she has been fed with dry food. She likes to go to the recreation ground where she can chase her ball. She needs a good supply of water and occasional biscuits, I usually give her a couple when she is going to be left in the kitchen when I go out. She has another walk in the late afternoon.
She is brushed regularly and dried with her towel if she gets wet. Her bedding is washed in the washing machine once a week....
She is very friendly with adults, but I do watch her with small children. She tends to be a bully and will chase timid dogs, she is fine with other large dogs. + More info
