"My family is other animals" (Gerald Durrell )
So the animals are as described. Ideally someone or a couple who are no frills as the house is homely but in need of modernisation. We have heating, hot water and wi-fi and Netflix so it's not completely Stone Age !
Skye is a Tibetan Mastiff and whilst huge in size doesn't need long long walks. She is still very curious and will pull on a lead when she sees other dogs. We do walk her off the lead but she can walk on the lead and will take strong arms to keep from pulling you over....
Stella is easy going but at 14 years old doesn't like other dogs in her face. She’s got cataracts and is deaf so will snap if another dog is over excited and in her face. She’s not nasty. She just needs TLC at her age. Best to just keep her on the lead too. She is happy to go on short walks and be left at home for anything longer.
The cat will come and go. We'd prefer she's kept in over night as the road we live on has taken two cats from us unfortunately. The runner ducks and chickens are easy to care for. Of course use the fresh eggs for breakfast or baking ! + More info
Our Home & Location
The house has a lot of potential.... see photos so no false expectations. Downstairs bathroom with bath, shower, sink and toilet.
Kitchen with electric oven, microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer. Sunroom with table and chairs....
Front lounge with TV, DVD, wifi, Netflix, sofa etc
Upstairs bedroom with king size bed.
Driveway for two cars.
A couple of walks direct from the front door. There are others a couple of miles in adjacent villages. If you love walking then the location is ideal and you needn't take the dogs on extensive walks.
Garden centre 10-15 mins walk down the road serving good lunches and coffee and cake. Local shop 10mins walk. Any questions please ask...
We could potentially insure you on a car to take dogs on walks a short drive away. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Walking the dogs once a day / maybe twice if not too far. They prefer not to use the garden as a toilet (and will hold it waiting to go out so need to go out to avoid accidents . Sorry but honesty is best. )
Feeding dogs and cat twice a day....
Feeding fish once / twice a day.
Feeding chickens and ducks once a day in the mornings and checking on their feeder and topping this and the water up every approx 3 days. Putting chickens to bed or rather checking they are in their houses at nightfall and opening the houses in the morning, so they don't risk being killed by a fox.
Skye will chew anything left on kitchen tops so making sure things are away and doors closed so she can't help herself. A good bone usually keeps her occupied indoors for a few days though ! + More info
