Want to look after a beautiful cat in a light modern house with walled garden an easy train ride from London?
We are looking for a kind and tidy non-smoking house sitter to look after our lovely rescue cat Suki when we are away. Our home is a wonderful modern light-filled South West facing 4 bedroom detached home in the countryside but just 15 minutes from Milton Keynes and the fast train (35 minutes) to London.
We would love to find a reliable kind cat-loving sitter to take care of Suki and our home whilst we are away....
The home is an uplifting place to be with wonderful birdlife in the garden (Suki is not a great hunter!), views as far as the horizon of open fields and a huge sky. + More info
Our Home & Location
Located in the village of Hanslope just 15 minutes drive form Milton Keynes, our home is a wonderful warm modern four bedroom home facing South West which means the light floods in. It has been designed for indoor outdoor living when the weather is nice.
You would have your own Guest double room with views of the fields to the South West and your own bathroom which is not ensuite but is a family bathroom dedicated to the guest bedroom....
There is ample parking in the driveway for your car.
Lovely neighbours, views and easy location. We commuted to London for 15 years from the home so it is a perfect country retreat for sightseeing days in London if you wish.
Nearby places of interest include Silverstone and Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes Arts Centre and the City Centre with Ski dome, indoor flying, bowling, theatre, cinema great shopping and more. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Suki is a very easy cat to look after - two feeds a day, a daily scooping out of her litter tray and granule top up as needed (she is very clean with dry small stools) and a weekly total empty, wash and refresh granules of her litter tray.
Suki loves company on her terms, so being around the house some of the day and sleeping in the house at night. The more time you spend in the house the better for Suki, but she is totally fine if you want to go off and sightsee for the day in London, or explore Milton Keynes, or nearby sites....
Suki is complex (I assume a result of many months or maybe longer living in a cage before I rescued her). She is very affectionate in nature and loves people around her, but she is very scared of hands coming towards her and she won't let you pick her up. She is terrified of that still. She comes to you for affection - she loves to jump on your knee and curl up purring. But doesn't really want to be stroked whilst she is there UNLESS she asks for cheek rub stroking by rubbing her head against your hand.
I let her tell me what affection she wants from me and then I can give her lots! I only pick her up rarely, as part of my efforts to desensitise her to the trauma of being picked up. So please do not attempt to pick her up. But also please give her all the love she asks for!
She will reward you with the cutest looks, the softest strokes, fabulous purring and the funniest little mannerisms! + More info
