House and pet sitter needed in East Cowes for August bank holiday week
Hi there, we are Karen, Dick and daughter Lauren Saltonstall and we are looking for someone to take care of our gorgeous cat Maxwell, and keep him company when we go to visit family in South Africa for a month in December.
Maxwell can be rather timid around children, so sadly we will have to say no to families as it would be too stressful for him as it's difficult enough when we are here to calm him..he just disappears.
Our Home & Location
We live in a 3 bed semi in East Cowes situated just a 5-10 min walk from the Red funnel ferry terminal and East Cowes seafront that looks across the Solent.
East Cowes has both a Waitrose and a Co-op supermarket along with post office, cafe's, health centre and pharmacies. We also have a little shop a few doors away where you can buy your morning paper, along with all the basics....
The Isle of Wight is a popular holiday destination all year round and at only 24 mile long and 14 miles wide is easily accessible and well serviced by bus routes.
We are luck to have the beautiful Osbourne house, home to queen Victoria just a 10 min walk up the road and well worth a visit.
The island is criss- crossed with cycle tracks and public footpaths and has too many beautiful places to visit and explore to mention them all. Previous house sitters have had a fantastic time exploring and taking in all the island offers. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
We would really like someone to take really good care of our Bengal spotted cross, Maxwell when we go on holiday. He's quite low maintenance really, just feed him twice a day and give him the occasional treat. He just likes to know there is someone around. We will need the garden & pots watering and if you feel like doing a bit of pottering then be my guest.
Obviously the garden won't be a problem in the winter other than to keep the bird feeders topped up but when we're away during the summer months the numerous pots/flowers andshrub in and around the 120 foot long back garden will need to be watered regularly. Hopefully we won't have a hosepipe ban.
